Speaking at the graduation ceremony the health science university rector Prof.Dr. Cevdet ERDÖL has said “I find this graduation very important and meaningful in terms of realizing Sultan Abdülhamid Han's dream of bringing health professionals to Islamic world”.
The graduation ceremony which was held at the vocational school of health services has been attended by the minister of health of the Federal Republic of Somalia Dr.Fawziya Abikar, Turkish ambasador to Somalia Mehmet YILMAZ, Health Science University Rector Prof.Dr. Cevdet ERDÖL, Deputy Rector Prof.Dr.Kadriye Kart YAŞAR, Mogadishu Somalia Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Training and Research Hospital manager Assoc.Prof.Dr. İsmayil YILMAZ, the academic and the management staff of the university and the student relatives. The ceremony started with the national anthems of Somalia and Turkey and the health science university rector Prof.Dr. Cevdet ERDÖL has pointed out the great importance of a university based in Turkey to have opened a vocational school of health services abroad for the first time and to give its first graduates also he said ” it was important to realize the dream of Sultan Abdulhamid Han in raising health professionals in the Islamic world.
Our university was established with the instructions and support of the President of the Republic of Turkey as a practical application for the advancement of the Mekteb-i Tıbbiyye-i Şahane, which was established by Sultan Abdülhamid Han in 1903 to educate health professionals in the Islamic geography.I am proud to participate in the graduation ceremony of Mogadishu Recep Tayyip Erdogan Vocational School of Health Services in Somalia, which has an exceptional place among our hearts in accordance with the purpose of establishment.I find this graduation ceremony very important and meaningful in terms of realizing Sultan Abdülhamid Han's dream of raising health professionals in Islamic world.
After the speeches of the Minister of Health of the Federal Republic of Somalia Dr.Fawziya Abikar,Turkish Ambasador to Somalia Mehmet YILMAZ and the other protocol members, the winning students were given various gifts and the 42 students who graduated in 2018-2019 academic year experienced the joy of graduation by throwing their caps.
