About the Clinic

Our Infectious Diseases Department provides a wide range of services, from the evaluation of outpatients to the advanced diagnosis and treatment of hospitalized patients. In addition, it works in coordination with the Infection Control Committee to implement a comprehensive program aimed at preventing hospital-acquired infections. The primary goal of our department is to provide accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and safe healthcare services.

 

1. Infectious Diseases Outpatient Clinic (Ambulatory Services)

The Infectious Diseases Outpatient Clinic is the unit where patients presenting with acute or chronic infectious complaints are evaluated and followed on an outpatient basis.

Services Provided in the Outpatient Clinic

                •             Evaluation of acute infectious complaints (fever, cough, sore throat, diarrhea, etc.)

                •             Diagnosis, follow-up, and treatment planning for viral hepatitis (HBV–HCV)

                •             HIV/AIDS counseling and regular monitoring

                •             Tuberculosis screening and control appointments

                •             Tetanus and rabies exposure assessment and necessary guidance

                •             Endemic infections and travel health counseling

                •             Planning of required laboratory tests (culture, PCR, serology)

                •             Referral of appropriate patients for inpatient treatment

2. Infectious Diseases Inpatient Clinic (Hospitalized Patient Services)

Our inpatient clinic is a specialized unit for the care of patients who require hospitalization due to infectious diseases. Patients are monitored closely in rooms arranged according to their isolation needs.

Services Provided in the Inpatient Clinic

                •             Treatment of community-acquired and hospital-acquired infections

                •             Investigation of fever of unknown origin and advanced diagnostic evaluation

                •             Close monitoring and supportive therapy in severe infections

                •             Administration of IV antibiotic/antiviral treatments

                •             Inpatient monitoring of special infections such as HIV, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis, endemic infections

                •             Evaluation and treatment of surgical site infections

                •             Multidisciplinary consultations and treatment management

                •             Monitoring of organ dysfunction related to infections

3. Infection Control Services (Prevention of Hospital-Acquired Infections)

Our Infection Control Unit plays a critical role in patient safety by working to prevent, monitor, and control hospital-acquired infections. The unit implements the hospital-wide infection control program in accordance with national and international guidelines.

Scope of Infection Control Services

                •             Regular surveillance and reporting of hospital-acquired infections

                •             Measuring and auditing compliance with hand hygiene

                •             Monitoring the implementation of standard and isolation precautions

                •             Antimicrobial Stewardship and antibiotic management programs

                •             Oversight of environmental cleaning and disinfection processes

                •             Evaluation of sterilization and disinfection practices

                •             Regular training programs for healthcare workers

                •             Early detection and control of potential hospital outbreaks

                •             Monitoring waste management and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
