Blood Center

The Blood Center is a critical unit responsible for the safe procurement, testing, storage, and controlled distribution of all blood and blood products used in the hospital. Our unit operates in accordance with national standards and international transfusion safety protocols, providing erythrocyte suspensions, fresh frozen plasma, and platelet suspensions.

Blood Grouping and Compatibility Testing

  • ABO and Rh typing

  • Advanced blood grouping

  • Indirect Coombs (antibody screening) test

  • Crossmatch (compatibility) testing

All tests are performed using modern equipment with a double-check system.

Safe Storage of Blood and Blood Products

  • Temperature-controlled blood refrigerators

  • Platelet incubators and agitator systems

  • Deep freezers for frozen plasma

All equipment is monitored 24/7 with temperature and alarm tracking systems.
