Orthotics and Prosthetics Unit
The Orthotics and Prosthetics Unit is a specialized field dedicated to designing, manufacturing, and applying custom-made orthotic and prosthetic solutions aimed at reducing functional losses in the musculoskeletal system, enhancing patients’ quality of life, and supporting independence. Our unit provides a comprehensive approach for upper and lower limb amputations, orthopedic deformities, neurological disorders, and functional impairments resulting from injuries.
Prosthetic Services
Custom prosthetic systems are planned and applied according to the level of amputation.
Lower Limb Prostheses:
Transtibial (below-knee) prostheses
Transfemoral (above-knee) prostheses
Ankle disarticulation prostheses
Hip disarticulation prostheses
Upper Limb Prostheses:
Process: Evaluation → Measurement → Socket Design → Module Selection → Trial → Adjustment → Training and Follow-up
Orthotic Services
Orthoses are produced to provide joint stability, limit or correct movement, and offer support.
Lower Limb Orthoses:
AFO (Ankle–Foot Orthosis)
KAFO (Knee–Ankle–Foot Orthosis)
HKAFO (Hip–Knee–Ankle–Foot Orthosis)
Static and dynamic orthoses
Upper Limb Orthoses:
Spinal Orthoses:
Scoliosis braces (pediatric and adult)
Lumbar and cervical orthoses
Postural support orthoses
For Bedridden Patients:
Custom Design and Production
Each orthosis and prosthesis is individually planned according to the patient’s measurements and needs. Lightweight, durable, and biomechanically optimized materials such as thermoplastics and carbon fiber are used to ensure high comfort and functionality.
Multidisciplinary Approach
The Orthotics and Prosthetics Unit works collaboratively with:
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialists
Orthopedic and Traumatology Specialists
Physiotherapists
Audiologists and Rehabilitation Teams
Unit Objectives
Minimize functional loss
Enhance mobility and independence
Support walking, grasping, and daily living activities
Promote aesthetic and psychosocial recovery
Optimize device compliance through long-term follow-up and care
